人類文明的歷史有精神與物質兩大範疇，兩者相互交錯，在不同時代能產生不同 的生活樣貌和消費模式。物質文化建構了公領域和私領域的差別、強化了性別的 差異，也將社會階級與分工具體化；物質文化更因時代趨勢與人的流動，型塑個 體的差異與勞力的分工。物質文化研究是近十年來的顯學之一，此一領域涉及空 間生產、後人類研究所發展的情感與身分認同。本專題歡迎大家惠賜論述諸如物 質與跨文化、社會階級與物質文化、物質環境與生態、物質與失能、藝術與物質

文化等與物質文化相關議題的學術論文。

Perspectives of Material Culture

This special issue invites papers focusing on material culture from the perspectives of cultural or historical studies. In the past decade, study on material culture has become a new trend; the study not only reveals human experience but also examines the process of producing and reproducing culture(s). Emile Durkheim took the material as the core of life in all communities while Arjun Appadurai reminds mobilization of cultural material. Topics of material culture also include environment, production and consumption, as well as objects that characterize a certain community and culture in a period  of  human  history.  This  topical  issue  welcomes  papers  that  explore  the meanings of objects or things in material life, such as court culture, material world and eco-system, material life of the disabled, art and material culture.
